A Walk to Remember is a 2002 American coming-of-age romantic drama film directed by Adam Shankman and written by Karen Janszen, based on Nicholas Sparks' 1999 novel of the same name. The film stars Shane West, Mandy Moore, Peter Coyote and Daryl Hannah, and was produced by Denise Di Novi and Hunt Lowry for Warner Bros. Pictures.

The novel's 1950s setting was changed to the 1990s to early 2000s for the film, as the producers were concerned it might not appeal to teenage audiences. The film was shot for 39 days in Wilmington, North Carolina, with many of the sets borrowed from the television series Dawson's Creek. The film, as with the book, is dedicated to Sparks' sister Danielle, whose cancer-afflicted life inspired the story.

The main reasons why I liked the movie "A walk to remember" are the well-chosen cast and the idea of the film. I really liked the main actors who looked good together. I was also very hooked on the evolution of the personality of the main character, how he turned from a cruel man who absolutely did not know how to love into a young man who was ready to be with a girl despite her illness and rejection of friends. I liked the main character for her determination and kindness. I also like the very idea of the film, that love changes people for the better, and that there is no time to waste when you have found your love, because life is not infinite. I didn't like the end of the movie a bit, because I hoped until the last that Jamie would recover.

The film, at first sight is about love, that love changes people. But in my opinion the film is about how a person changes for society. This is the first thought that appears before the viewer. Landon is a cool guy at school, he’s trying to show everyone that he’s cooler than the rest. But his soul is completely different; he puts on a mask for cool company. When he starts talking to Jamie, he shows his true gut. Special attention should be paid to the situation that Landon still stayed with Jamie, even when he found out that she had leukaemia. Landon is a guy who knows how to sincerely love that people warmly.
